Bellemont Bahá'i School News
        An Online Electronic Newsletter

Guidelines adopted in 1989 for the Bellemont Bahá'i School called for the committee charged with development of the School to publish a newsletter.  The newsletter was mailed to most Bahá'is in Arizona three times per year for two years but to save money for important construction work at the School the committee decided the publication would be placed on hold.   We hope this electronic online newsletter will take the place of the original one and with regular updates keep Bahá'i communities everywhere informed about events and progress being made in the development of the School.   We believe many Bahá'is who own computers will be reached through cyberspace and will want to share the information they receive with the members in their communities.  Our hope is to reach a large number of people who will want to help the Bellemont Bahá'i School to become better able to serve the Bahá'i Faith.   Everyone's help will be welcomed!   Throughout the world 78.6 out of 1000 people own computers. The number is higher for the U.S. and we hope even higher for Bahá's The Bellemont Bahá'i School Committee

The old ramada is gone!
The ramada was demolished on 8/16-17/08.  This old structure had been modified three times since the early 1960s.  The dimensions were 16' x 60'.  The Bellemont Bahá'i School Committee made the decision to demolish and replace the old ramada at their meeting January 12, 2008, in Carefree, Arizona.  At a work weekend August 16-17, 2008 the old ramada was finally demolished.  It will be replaced by a new kitchen having an area 576 sq. ft and a new pavilion that will cover 1728 sq. ft. under the roof.  The location of the old ramada is currently being cleared for the construction of a new one.  Seven big pine trees have been removed to make room for the new structure.  Their trunks and branches along with other debri will be burned or removed in a dumpster.  The site will soon be leveled and made ready for the School's newest structure.  If building plans can be completed soon and approved by the Coconino County Building Department construction can soon be started.  If the good weather holds, construction could be completed before the end of October.  The demolishtion has captured in photographs.  Also, the new construction will be photgraphed as it progresses.  Both sets of pictures will appear on this web link as they become available.

Prior to the January 12 meeting in Carefree, Arizona a request to renew the conditional use permit regulation all new construction at the School was submitted to the Coconino County Building Commision.  Plans for adding many new buildings at the School were included in the request.  The inclusion caused a change in the property's status from a day camp for youth to a commercial status of a full school resulting in a review of the capacity of the School's septic system to handle any increases in waste disposal caused by new construction.  An agreement was eventually reached and the conditional use permit was approved until the year 2018.  The ramada and any other construction can now proceed under the terms of the use permit.  The construction of the ramada is now underway.  Volunteer help will reduce the cost of construction.  Check the following link to see how you can HELP!  HELP  Progress will be reported as new information becomes available.  If you are interested in helping out, please contact by email, telephone, or post! All donations of labor or funds will be appreciated.  Please earmarked your gift as "Ramada Project" and mail it to:
